Boil Water: Bring a pot of water to a boil. Make sure the pot is large enough to comfortably hold the tomatoes you want to peel.
Score the Tomatoes: Use a sharp knife to score a shallow "X" on the bottom of each tomato. This helps the skin loosen during the boiling process.
Blanch the Tomatoes: Carefully place the tomatoes into the boiling water. Let them blanch for about 30 seconds to 1 minute, depending on the ripeness of the tomatoes.
Shock in Ice Water: Using a slotted spoon, transfer the blanched tomatoes immediately into a bowl of ice water. This shocks them and stops the cooking process.
1. Peel the Tomatoes: Once the tomatoes have cooled down, you should be able to easily peel off the skin starting from the scored "X" at the bottom. The skin should come off smoothly.
